Software subscription keeps declining and I’m losing my mind lol
Hey everyone! I’m hoping someone here can help me out before I throw my laptop out the window.
So, I’ve been trying to sub to this new design software all morning (I finally decided to upgrade my workflow, yay!), but the checkout page is literally hating on me. Every time I hit 'pay,' it just gives me a generic 'transaction declined' message.
I already checked with my bank and they’re like 'everything is fine on our end, girl,' but clearly, it’s not. I’ve tried like three times and I’m scared they’re gonna lock my card if I keep spamming it. It’s super frustrating because I have a project due on Monday and I really need this specific tool.
Has anyone else dealt with this when buying software from international developers? Is there some kind of hidden block or is it just a glitchy gateway? I'd appreciate any tips because I'm seriously stuck right now!

That sounds like a classic gateway mismatch. Honestly, I’ve dealt with this a dozen times when trying to get licenses from overseas devs. It’s rarely the bank’s fault, even if they say everything is clear. Most of the time, the merchant's fraud detection just hates the card's origin or some specific data it’s sending out. Have you tried checking if the site even supports your card level? Sometimes they block everything that isn't a high-tier credit card.
I had the exact same headache trying to pay for my Adobe sub last month. Seriously, I was ready to give up too. Turns out the site was flagging my card as a 'business' card, and they just didn't support that for my plan.
What saved me was doing a quick bin search to see what the system actually sees on their end. Once I realized my card was being misidentified, I just swapped it for a regular debit and it went through instantly. Give it a look, might save you some stress before your deadline on Monday!
