About 1calendar
1calendar is a venture backed IT company which offer students from universities all around the world a free online calendar. Our service automatically imports and updates schedules from schools and social media with both our web and mobile apps. Many future innovations are in the pipeline and to reach our ambitious goals, we are now looking to expand the team with two additional developers.
1calendar works with a cloud based Django framework. The system is built and based on new and exciting distributed computing technologies, and we plan to keep it that way.
Some general technologies we use to develop our dynamic web 2.0 calendar include:
* HTML5,
* CSS3,
* Python (Django and more),
* JavaScript (jQuery),
* REST, Comet, RabbitMQ, Celery,
* iPhone, Android
You
We are looking for a skilled and creative web developer who will work together with a small team to design web applications with a simple and elegant design. You should have an excellent eye for website design - you know the rules of perfection. You see websites as a symbiosis between art and technology, and your ideal website wouldn't be complete if you changed a pixel or took away a single tag.
As a true child of the web you are following the progress of the HTML5 and CSS3 with excitement, and it's always tingling in your fingers to put emergent technologies to some use. You have a great deal of experience with JavaScript and have developed with jQuery. You have experience with one or more server-side languages such as Python, PHP or Ruby (we are using Django, but it's very easy to learn), and you might have some formal training in software engineering and Agile development.
Education
We would prefer you to have a formal engineering background, such as a Computer Science or a Software Engineering degree.
If you are still studying, you should be at least around two years into your studies, or have significant experience from previous projects (which can be hobby projects or actual work experience).
Working at 1calendar
As an enthusiastic and innovative candidate you will have excellent career opportunities in our young company. At 1calendar you will work with a friendly and flexible 11 man strong team with possibilities for a lot of co-determination. 1calendar's main office is located in central Copenhagen and very close to public transportation. Wage compensation will match skills and experience.
Application
Send your application to [email protected] - we have ongoing job interviews and are looking for people as soon as possible. Remember to attach a motivation paper, your resume and references from previous jobs – preferably something visual.
